The stuff of dreams

I have been having an weirdly delightful series of dreams this week featuring a band of five talking lizards with golden beetlewings. They're off on some sort of epic quest, though I haven't figured out what their goal is yet.

This is one of them.

What's startling about this drawing is that (I think) it actually sorta looks like a lizard. Either this is a total fluke, or I might actually be learning to draw.

Also, please ignore that foot. This is still pretty rough.

Also, before anyone points it out, no his tail isn't right if you presume that he is an anole, which is what he mostly looks like, but this is how their tails look in the dreams.

I may eventually refine this to the point of inking and coloring, but in the meantime, imagine that he's a bluish green color, darker along his spine with a pale belly, golden elytra, iridescent wings, and has those tribal markings in black pigment on his face and back. The staff is wood and adorned with brightly colored feathers and beads. The bit of skin at his throat flares out a bright red/orange.
