My newest carved work.
It's a carved vessel made out of a deer antler.
It's got an open area inside under the cap, that's about an inch deep and a little bigger around than my thumb.
(I wouldn't put liquids in it, but it would work for something that's had scented oil put on it like a piece of fabric, or for herbs, granular incense, salt, ect. Or little rocks or beads.)
The antler itself is carved with Newgrange style spirals, and is capped with a textured spiral carved from bone colored Corian. (Yes, the countertop stuff!)
The little cabochon in the center of the cap is hand cut from jade colored Corian. (It's about 4mm around!! Not easy to do without lapidary equipment.)
A couple lengths of handmade copper chain serve as a way to hang it up, and as a safety chain for the cap.
I'll put more views of this up in my scraps.
It'll be posted on our etsy account soon, and will be around $45 USD + shipping.
