Commission: Elk Bone Runes with pouch by DreamingDragonDesign Commission: Elk Bone Runes with pouch by DreamingDragonDesign
Set of runes; cut, shaped and polished to a glossy shine that is hard to capture in photos.
Copper Leaf paint used to accent the symbols.

The pouch is hand stitched from my own pattern from black antelope leather suede, with a small black bone bead and two copper beads as accents on the drawstring.

Yes, this set is supposed to have irregular sizes and a rough edge to the pouch, as the commissioner wanted a more primitive type of look.

The Elk bone and the Antelope leather are from *Zhon. The bone is Elk jawbone, and if I remember correctly, the leather is Gemsbok leather.

Commissions are currently closed until spring, but you are welcome to note me about pricing on runes, and what materials are possible.

I know what most of those runes say on them.  I can see "D", "H", "B", "M", "W", "U & V", "A", "Y or Z" (Depending on which way it is placed), "R", "E", and the rest I can or can't clearly see I cannot identify.

The runeset is Elder Futhark, so just google it for the whole rune list. Or look in my gallery for the not so artsy shot of the previous set I did.

Which ones? The Danish, Swedish/Norwegian, or Hälsinge runes?

I could do a set with any of them, and due to only needing 16 runes they would be a little cheaper than the 25 needed for a full set of Elder Futhark.

The Danish set. It's my favorite and its part of my ancestry.

:) I'd be happy to do a set with pouch for around $60, and shipping to Canada can be as low as $7, if you are ok with regular parcel. Note me if you would like to get into my queue for a commission when I reopen them around the start of summer.

The largest are about an inch long, give or take. This set is "primitive" in treatment, so uneven sizes, but I can make them more even. I can also make them bigger if you want them to be more of a handful, or more elongated/more square. They are usually rectangular. No extra charge for bigger runes unless you want them really huge.
Can't start work on another set until after Beltane, but I'd be happy to put you in the queue if you want to pay before then. They can take up to 6 months to be finished, as I sometimes have to source more bone if I run out. Speaking of which: If I don't have enough elk bone left, are you ok with deer? It's sometimes more golden in color than the whitened elk bone shown, as I prep deer bones myself from what I get from local meat hunters.
I can do just about any plain or metallic color in the rune carvings themselves. These are shown with copper but there are lots of other options since I use either really durable leaf paints for metallic, or model enamels for colors. I can also do other leather colors; the black antelope or white deerskin is what I have on hand currently, but I can get nearly anything else if calfskin is fine.

Note me some details about your options, and I'll get you info about how to get money to me.
